Chapel in the Pines

Make a joyful noise while overlooking beautiful Logan Martin Lake with the Chapel in the Pines services. These non-denominational Christian services begin at 8:30 a.m. in Lakeside Park’s amphitheater and are held every Sunday from the first Sunday in May to the last Sunday in September.

The services are casual and “come as you are,” and attendees can even arrive by boat and dock at the amphitheater’s nearby pier.

The 30-minute programs typically consist of communal songs, sermons and grant presentations. Each service will feature a different speaker.

Offerings given at Chapel in the Pines services have been able to fund numerous $1,000 grants that will be presented throughout the summer to organizations like Habitat for Humanity and the YWCA.

Chapel in the Pines, a ministry of Pell City’s First United Methodist Church, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, according to Teresa Harris, FUMC office manager.
